Principal's Message

Principal Melissa McKay

Hello! My name is Melissa McKay and I am honored to be the principal at Santa Fe Elementary. I have two bachelor’s degree in Elementary & Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I taught for twenty years, before stepping out into the amazing world of administration. I have been in the Moore Public School System since 2005 and I can honestly say, it is the very best district I have been associated with.

As the leader of our school, I want you to know that my priority each day, is to ensure that our students know they are loved and safe.  I spend a lot of time visiting the classrooms, building relationships with the students. I also work closely with our teachers to ensure that each classroom is equipped with what they need to help your students be successful.

Our school is comprised of approximately four hundred student’s Pre-K through 6th grade. We also house the 6th grade VISTA program.  We have highly motivated teachers and a valued staff of paraprofessionals. The students at Santa Fe benefit from dedicated teachers and data driven education that they receive on a daily basis. We celebrate the successes of children every day and find innovative ways to motivate each student to find their way to succeed academically as well as socially.

I believe that parent involvement is another key component to student success.  Please consider joining our amazing PTA and finding ways to serve in our school whether your commitment is big or small. We welcome your support and ideas as we encourage both our students and teachers. One way to stay informed about our many activities is to join our Santa Fe PTA Facebook page. Signing up for Class Dojo and Peach Jar will also keep you informed about many things related to our school.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to email or call.

Sincerely,
Melissa McKay, M.Ed.
